11. Crash and Error Reporting (Sentry)
To stabilize and improve our apps, we use Sentry (Functional Software, Inc. dba Sentry, 45 Fremont Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA). Sentry automatically collects crash and diagnostic data when unexpected errors occur or when app stability is affected.
In particular, the following data is processed:
- Diagnostic and crash data: Stack traces, native crash logs, device information (model, OS version, app version, free memory), language, and technical events leading up to the error (so-called "breadcrumbs"). Watchdog data related to text-to-speech (TTS) behavior may be included.
- Game state context: Via
setGameContext, technical game state data (e.g. game phase, year, AI difficulty, number of players) is attached to crash reports to help reproduce the error. No personal profile information is transmitted. - Device identifier: Sentry generates a random
installation_id(UUID per app installation). No advertising identifiers (IDFA/AAID) and no user IDs (nosetUser) are collected. - Product interaction: Via Mobile Session Replay, tap, scroll, and navigation events as well as a screen recording of the app UI shortly before the crash are captured. Text input and sensitive content are masked by default.
- Screenshots: On crashes, a screenshot of the app UI is automatically attached to the crash report (
attachScreenshot) to help diagnose the error. - Coarse location: The IP address is transmitted to Sentry; Sentry derives a coarse region (country/state) from it. No precise location is collected.
Active performance/tracing data is not collected (tracesSampleRate: 0). Data is used solely for diagnostics, stability, and analytics purposes (bugfixing, app functionality) — not for advertising or cross-device tracking. The data is not linked to a user's identity.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the stability, security, and debugging of our apps pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Sentry; transfers to the USA are based on EU Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary safeguards.
For more information, please refer to the Sentry Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy to adapt it to changed legal situations or changes to our apps or website. The current version is always available in the apps and on our website.
